About Gravis Labs

We build free health calculators and evidence-based guides that help people understand the numbers on their lab reports, at their check-ups, and on their home monitors.

Who we are

Gravis Labs is a health information service operated by Aryabyt Private Limited. Aryabyt Private Limited is the legal entity behind this site; Gravis Labs is the name the service publishes under.

What we do

A lab report hands you a list of numbers and a reference range, and very little else. A blood pressure reading is two numbers whose categories differ depending on which country’s guideline you read. An eGFR is an estimate whose accuracy depends on your muscle mass. None of this is explained where you actually encounter it.

Gravis Labs exists to fill that gap. We currently publish 20 calculators, 35 guides and 11 topic hubs, each built around one question: what does this number actually mean, and where does it stop being useful?

How we work

Four principles govern everything on this site.

  • Every number has a source

Each formula and threshold comes from a named clinical guideline, government health agency, or peer-reviewed paper — cited on the page with the date we last verified it.

  • Limitations get equal billing

A result without its caveats is misleading. Every calculator lists what the number cannot tell you, with the same prominence as the number itself.

  • Privacy by architecture

Every calculation runs in your browser. There is no API endpoint that accepts a health value and no database table that could store one.

  • No credentials we have not earned

We explain measurements. We do not diagnose, do not recommend treatment, and never claim clinician review that has not happened.

Who writes this

Content is researched and written by the Gravis Labs editorial team, working from primary sources. Every article carries a byline and a publication date, and every claim that needs a source has one.

Where a page has been reviewed by a qualified clinician, that reviewer is named with their credentials and the date of review. Where no reviewer is named, no clinician review has taken place. We will not imply review that did not happen to make the site look more authoritative — read more in our editorial policy.

What we are not

Gravis Labs is a publisher, not a healthcare provider. It is not a clinic, a telemedicine service, a diagnostic service or an emergency service, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Our medical disclaimer sets this out in full.

It is also not a medical device, and it holds no registration, approval, certification or clearance from any medical regulator or health authority. We hold no clinical authority of our own: what makes a figure on this site trustworthy is the organization cited beside it, not us. Reproducing a published equation accurately is the whole of what we do, and it is not the same as being an authority on it.

None of that reduces what we owe you. It means the opposite — because we cannot lean on a credential, every threshold has to carry a citation you can check, and every calculator has to say where it stops being reliable. Anything that matters for your health needs a qualified clinician who can examine you and see your full history. This site is a starting point for that conversation.

How this is funded

The site is free and has no subscription. We intend to fund it with display advertising, under the placement rules set out in our advertising disclosure. Advertising does not influence what we write.
