We cannot answer medical questions

We are a publisher, not a healthcare provider. We cannot interpret your results, tell you what a number means for you, or give medical advice — that needs a clinician who knows your history. If you believe you are having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services.

What we would genuinely like to hear about

  • Corrections. If a formula, threshold or explanation is wrong, tell us which page and what is wrong. This is the most useful mail we get.
  • Out-of-date guidance. If a guideline has been superseded and we are still citing the old one, we want to know.
  • Missing sources. If a claim needs a citation it does not have, point at it.
  • Accessibility problems. If something on this site does not work with your screen reader, keyboard, or magnification, that is a bug and we will fix it.
  • Tool requests. Tell us which measurement you were trying to understand and could not.

What we cannot do

  • Interpret your test results or tell you what your numbers mean.
  • Advise on medication, dosage, treatment, or whether to see a doctor.
  • Provide a second opinion on anything clinical.

See our medical disclaimer for the full position.

Privacy

If you email us, we will have your email address and whatever you tell us. We use it to reply and to act on what you have raised, and nothing else. Please do not send us your medical records or test results — we do not need them and cannot interpret them. See our privacy policy.
